FOR MEMBERS

Pension and health insurance

Who to write to, and what to expect from each office.

Retirement brings its own paperwork, and the offices that handle it are not always easy to find. This page gathers what members have asked about most, and tells you who to write to when it is not clear.

FROM THE MANAGEMENT TEAM

What members should know

This section is awaiting content from the management team. The text below shows how it will read once written.

Starting your pension

A short explanation of what happens in the months after service ends, which office makes the first contact, and what a new retiree should expect to receive. Two or three paragraphs are enough. The aim is to describe the sequence, not to restate the rules.

Where a rule is involved, the text should point to the Pension Fund rather than quote it, so that this page never falls out of date.

Health cover after service

An explanation of how cover works for retired staff in Indonesia, written in plain language. Because arrangements differ between organisations, this section should describe the common pattern and tell members how to find out which office handles their own cover.

Keeping your details current

A reminder of which details the Pension Fund needs to have correct, how often they should be checked, and what tends to go wrong when they are not. Members have mentioned this more than any other subject.

Where the association can help

A short closing passage setting out what the management team can and cannot do. AFUNPR does not decide entitlements and cannot act on a member’s behalf, but it can point to the right office and share what other members have learned.

THINGS THAT COME UP

Four matters worth knowing about

These are the questions members ask most often. In each case the Pension Fund is the authority, and the management team can help you reach the right office.

1

Your certificate of entitlement

This arrives once a year and has to be returned. If it is not, payment can be paused until the Fund hears from you. Keep the date somewhere you will see it.

2

Changing your bank or address

Changes go to the Pension Fund directly, not through the association or your former office. Keep a copy of whatever you send.

3

Health insurance premiums

For members on after-service health insurance, premiums are deducted from the monthly benefit. Which office handles your cover depends on the organisation you retired from.

4

Family and survivor matters

Entitlements for a spouse or dependants follow their own rules. It is worth asking the Fund early rather than at the moment it is needed.

STILL NOT SURE

Ask the management team

If you cannot tell which office covers you, or a letter has arrived and you are not certain what it asks for, write to us. Someone on the management team has almost certainly been through the same thing.
